San Diego Statistics are very Interesting

San Diego is California’s second largest city with a population of 1.3 million in the city proper, and almost 3 million residents throughout the county.  It is the eighth largest city in the United States and the county encompasses 18 incorporated cities.  The dense population of such a vast area speaks loudly for the city’s beauty, charm, and resilient energy.  The shear magnetism of the city acts as indisputable proof that the city San Diego has a touch of something special, whether for vacation or residence.

As early as 20,000 years ago, San Diego has been inhabited by native people but the first European to set foot here was the Portuguese explorer >Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, who sailed into San Diego Bay in 1542.  One can only imagine those first sights of the San Diego harbor, how Cabrillo likely lost his breath at the vision of land and majestic shores before him, not yet knowing that the sublime nature of the shoreline was just the beginning of what he had come across.

San Diego Tourist Attractions

San Diego is renowned for its idyllic climate, and is a major tourist destination.  There are many world-class attractions such as the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World San Diego, and LEGOLAND, to mention only a few.  There are also over a dozen museums, about 6,400 restaurants, 92 golf courses, and a host of multicultural festivals and celebrations.  It is, however, the multi-cultural events and traditions that hold the very essence of San Diego County, for the variety and lush offerings of the city can be attributed to its people.  San Diego is a city that celebrates the heritage of a vast variety of culture, especially that of its geographical and historic cousin, Mexico.  Street signs, architecture, and very accessible ethnic food all greatly pay tribute to the cultural history of this Southern California oasis.  There is never an end to what one might discover hidden in both the natural and built landscape of San Diego County.

In addition to various land-based activities, San Diego has much to do that is water-related. With 70 miles of coastline, San Diego’s shoressupport year-round outdoor recreation such as surfing, boating, sailing, whale watching and swimming.  It is a great place for a yacht charter, particularly if one wishes to view not only the glory of the ocean from the shore, but to also take-in the view of the coastline from the view of the open water.  The beaches may receive a lot of (well-earned) praise, but the view of the solid landscape does not go amiss on anyone who views it.  Many residents of the beach communities would agree that it is being out on the water that makes one realize the majesty of the shoreline, seeing the waves crashing on the sand and the palm trees keeping guard over the beaches, cliffs, and reefs.  Visitors and residents alike will find a yachting experience one of the most appealing and unique ways to see San Diego, and from one of the city’s best views.

The difficult thing about visiting San Diego is deciding which things to do.  Whether you decide to do land based activities or to spend time on the water – you are going to have a great time.  We look forward to seeing you!
